Lithium-ion battery electrolyte additive
The main use. Improves the cycle performance and service life of battery electrolyte.
CEC in sealed drums, stored under inert atmosphere
Electrolyte additive for lithium-ion batteries, from a dedicated 40,000 t/y line
Chloroethylene carbonate (CEC) is used as an electrolyte additive for lithium-ion batteries and as an organic synthesis intermediate. High-purity grade serves directly as a flame-retardant additive that improves the cycle performance and service life of battery electrolyte. Gaoyuan commissioned a dedicated CEC line in 2022.
Colourless to pale yellow transparent liquid, free of suspended solids.
Concentration, grade and packaging are set to your specification. Tell us the end use and the market, and we will confirm which grade applies and what documentation comes with it.
Applications
Every field below has different purity and documentation requirements. Tell us which one you are in and we will confirm the grade before quoting.
The main use. Improves the cycle performance and service life of battery electrolyte.
High-purity grade can be used directly as a flame-retardant additive without further processing.
Intermediate in fine chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis routes.
Specification
Assay and impurity limits follow Manufacturer specification and the grade ordered. We send the full specification sheet and a batch certificate of analysis on request.
Packaging
Standard export packing is listed here. Drum size, concentration and drum marking are all changed to your specification.
Customisation
Storage & handling
A safety data sheet is issued with the order. The points below are the ones that most often get missed on a first purchase, so they are on the page rather than in an annex.

Documents
Which documents apply depends on your market and end use, so we confirm the destination before sending. Sodium chlorite for drinking water, for textile bleaching and for flue gas treatment are three different conversations.
